Inside the newly renovated Katy Mills Mall, you can escape the Texas heat. Enjoy the contemporary eating pavilion, Disney Jr., and the 165+ retailers, which include numerous high-fashion outlets. AMC Theatres and Play Zone are two of the most popular movie theaters in the area. It is a climate-controlled indoor value and outlet shopping center. Katy Mills is a shopping mall in Katy, Texas, part of the Houston metropolitan region, and one of Houston’s tourism attractions. The Mills Corporation built it, and Simon Property Group, which owns 62.5 percent of it, currently manages it. The mall first opened its doors on October 28, 1999. Katy Mills is a one-story complex on 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2) of property near Typhoon Texas water park, immediately off Interstate 10 exit 741. The mall is designed in the shape of a “racetrack,” with one complete loop around the mall on Katy Mills Cir. The road is about a mile long (1.6 km). AMC Theatres, Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, Books-A-Million, Burlington Coat Factory, H&M, XXI Forever, Marshalls, Off Broadway Shoes, Off Fifth Saks Fifth Avenue, Old Navy, Rainforest Cafe, Restoration Hardware Outlet, Ross Dress for Less, Sun and Ski Sports, and Tilt Studio are among the popular department stores and anchors that have relocated from Sealy Outlet Center, which was supplanted by Katy Mills due to its distance. Nike Factory Store, Kate Spade New York, Fossil, Michael Kors, Coach Outlet, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th, Under Armour, Cole Haan, Tommy Bahama, PINK, Champs Sports, Helzberg Diamonds, and Steve Madden are also among the over 175 stores at Katy Mills. A snack court, a carousel, a rock climbing wall, and a Disney Junior-themed play area are all available. The mall is surrounded by eateries such as Red Lobster, Fuddruckers, T.G.I. Friday’s, and Los Cucos. There is also an AMC Theatres, which has 20 rooms. In 2019, Katy Mills underwent a comprehensive interior and exterior makeover in preparation for the center’s 20th anniversary. The facility currently has a modern eating pavilion, as well as a Disney Jr. Play Zone, updated toilets, plush seating spaces, enhanced LED lighting, new flooring, skylights, WiFi, parking pylons, directional signs, concrete walks, and renewed landscaping are just a few of the improvements. Katy Mills was forced to close in March 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but it reopened in June with special signage instructing consumers on how to keep safe.
